Welcoming remarks by Ft. Laszló Vas –
Pastor of the Church A 110 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION of the works of József Domján, the legendary color woodcut artist of the 20th century. Masterpieces will be exhibited from the collection of the late Dr. Ignác Kazella – first time seen by the public. József Domján was born into a working class family in Budapest in 1907. By the time of his death in 1992 in New Jersey, he received all the significant awards and recognitions which a fine artist could be awarded. No other Hungarian artist has more works in Western Hemisphere museums than Domján. He is a contemporary artist who, in the second part of his life, became an emblem in the art world, especially among Hungarian-American art collectors. Dr. Ignác Kazella, a Hungarian refugee in 1956, was an important collector of Hungarian visual artists and his collection of Domján’s art is likely the most significant in the world.
The exhibit opening is during the Parish luncheon: 15$ - reservation required: 973-773-0332 The exhibit will be open till Christmas and may be viewed each Sunday after mass or by appointment.
